Our passion for health has led us to develop a specific multivitamin for every type of weight loss surgery. A capsule a day, coupled with a healthy diet, will ensure your body gets the exact amount of vitamins and minerals you need.

Why extra vitamins?

After your surgery, your body will go through some changes. Due to the lower food intake, you get less nutrients essential for your body to continue to function properly. For this reason, it’s important to supplement your diet with extra vitamins, minerals, and calcium supplements.

Your operation

Sleeve or stomach band

After undergoing a sleeve gastrectomy, your stomach is permanently reduced. The surgeon removes a large part of the stomach lengthwise. The stomach (normally 1.5 liters) becomes a kind of tube with a much smaller volume. The digestive system remains intact, but you become full with a smaller portion of food. During the day you ingest less food which results in less vitamins and minerals for your body.

If you have a gastric band, your stomach is not permanently shrunk. A band is placed around your stomach reducing the upper part to roughly the size of a mandarin. This results in you feeling satisfied faster and eating less. Smaller food portions means your body no longer gets all the important nutrients it needs to perform vital functions.

Gastric bypass

In this surgery, the stomach is reduced by creating a small pouch and bypassing the remaining stomach. The small pouch is connected to the small intestine while most of stomach becomes ineffective. The operation leads to a reduction in the functional volume of the stomach. It is accompanied by an altered physical response to food which mean the body doesn’t get enough vitamins and minerals.

It is important to supplement your diet with WLS Forte. It has been specially formulated for people with a gastric bypass.

A WLS Forte capsule or chewing vitamin per day will supply your body the nutrients it needs.

BPD or DS

A biliopancreatic diversion/Scopinaro (BPD) or duodenal switch (DS) operation is a major intervention that causes drastic changes in nutrient intake. In these surgeries, your stomach is reduced in size and the surgeon makes some sort of diversion. A large part of the small intestine no longer works. In addition, the reduced stomach makes you satiated faster. Supplementation with a multivitamin (especially vitamins B12, iron and vitamins A, D, E and K) is important.

One WLS Maximum capsule per day will compensate for the vitamins and minerals lacking from your diet.
